Important announcement by Mr Tan

Please note what Mr Christopher Tan announced to the class today:

a. Graduation Day will be held on 17 Nov 2011.
b. Official last day of school for all 4E5N students is 14 Oct 2011.
c. On 17, 18 and (19 only AM), the timetable will still be running for the 4E5N students. However, attendance is not compulsory. If the students feel that they could manage on their own, they can choose not to come for both the morning and afternoon lessons.
d. O level Science Practice Briefing will be conducted in the hall on 13 Oct 2011 at 2pm for Combined Science students only.
e. The extension of opening hours for Learning Hub till 9pm will continue till 19 Oct 2011. After which, the library will only be opened till 4.45pm. Students are advised to study at home during the examination period.
f. Students are reminded to be in proper school attire whenever they are in school.

2011 Mid-year exam timetable

Please remember to report for flag raising ceremony in the morning 715 am if your paper starts at 8am.

If your paper starts at 1130am, you must report at 1100am (30 mins earlier).

If you are late, you might not be allowed to take the paper just like O level so be punctual!


As 9 May (Mon) will now be a school holiday due to the declaration of 7 May (Sat) as a public holiday - there will be adjustment to the Mid-year exam timetable as shown below:

School events Semester 1

1. Registration for National Exam
GCE 'N' Level Examination – 7 February to 21 February
GCE 'O' Level Examination – 14 February to 28 February

2. Structured Remedial Programme (SRP)
Remedial lessons will be conducted for all Secondary 4E/4N/5N classes and on Mondays to Fridays.

Mon - English
Tues - SS 2 to 3 pm, Electives 3 to 4 pm
Wed - Maths
Thurs - Science
Friday - MT

3. Eve of Lunar New Year and Lunar New Year Holidays
Students will be dismissed at 10am on Wednesday 2 February, the eve of Lunar New Year and school will resume on Monday 7 February after the Lunar New Year holidays.

4. Total Defence Day and International Friendship Day
The school will be commemorating Total Defence Day on Tuesday 15 Feb and International Friendship Day on Friday 8 April.

5. Annual X-Country on Friday 18 February
This will be held at Bedok Reservoir at 7.30am. Students will be dismissed at around 11am.

6. Common Tests from Wednesday 16 February to Friday 25 February
Assessment in Term 1 will be based on class tests conducted by the subject teachers as well as Common Tests. The schedule for the Common Tests will be issued to your child/ward duly.

7. Issue of Progress Report
Progress Report for Term 1 will be issued on Tuesday 8 March and students will return their report books to the form teacher when school reopens on Monday 21 March.

8. 6th Education and Career Guidance Seminar
This special programme for the 4E5N students will be held on Tuesday 31 May.


9. Graduation Trip
The 4E/5N/4T students will go on a two-day one-night learning journey to Muar- Malacca from Thursday 10 March to Friday 11 March.

10. E-Learning Days from Wednesday 9 March – Friday 11 March
Secondary 4 Normal Academic students will remain at home to do their e-learning from Wednesday 9 March to Friday 11 March while the 4E/5N/4T will have their e-learning on Wednesday 9 March.

11. 83rd Prize Presentation Day on Friday 21 April
This will be held in the school hall in the evening. All parents are cordially invited to this event.

12. The Mid-Year Examination will be conducted from Wednesday 4 May to Thursday 12 May.

13. Marking Day on Friday 13 May
Students need not report to school on 13 May.

14. Meet-the-Parents Session on Friday 27 May
Teachers will meet parents from 8am at a pre-arranged time to discuss their child's/ward's performance for the first semester.
